The Cold Case Facts

Eyvonne Bender and Susan Ovington

Murder in Morton Grove is a true crime podcast that aims to solve the murders of Susan Ovington and Eyvonne Bender from 1979. The podcast will dive into the investigation and provide insights into the case.

BACKSTORY

It was a hot summer afternoon on September 5 th 1979, when Susan and Eyvonne decided to head to the mall and purchase some jeans. It was supposed to be the first day of school for these seniors in high school, however a teacher's strike delayed the start date.

Susan and Eyvonne, said goodbye to their parents, hopped in the car and this was the last time they were ever seen alive. These two, bright, likable girls, were shot and killed in broad daylight in the forest preserve across the street from the mall.

When the girl's boyfriends could not get in touch with them, they organized a search party and their bodies were found later that day.

No one has ever been arrested for this case and the case files are unavailable from the Morton Grove Police Department.  There are a lot of unanswered questions and their families deserve the truth.

If you know something, say something.

This is justice for Susan and Eyvonne.
